Hours of Operations- The Daycare will be opened Mon-Fri from 5:30 am – 5:30 pm

I am occasionally available for overtime, overnight, and weekend care. There will be an extra charge for this service.

Early/Late Charges- My time is very valuable to me, as is yours to you. If you are early or late, extra fees will be charged and will be added to Friday’s payment. If your child is not picked up by 5:30 P.M. you will be charged an extra $5.00 per 15 minutes for every 15 mins that the child/ren are still in my care. If you can not be here by 5:30, Please make arrangments for someone else to pick up your child/ren.

Termination of Services- You must give a two week notice before termination of the childcare contract and will be responsible for all payments through the end of the notice period.

Suspected Child Abuse- It is the law that all members of a daycare institution be on the lookout for, and report to the state any and all cases of abuse or neglect to a child.

Medical Emergencies- Minor bumps and scratches are inevitable, but I will make every effort to keep the children safe through supervision and childproofing. Minor injuries will receive appropriate first aid, and if an emergency injury or illness occurs, you will be contacted as soon as possible. If necessary, your child will be taken to the nearest hospital where you will be asked to meet us. I am prepared with an emergency caregiver, (my sister Leann Franklin) will be caring for the children  in cases of unplanned absences such as illness, accident, or family crisis.

Child’s Release- Before a child is released to an individual other then the parent/guardian, the daycare must be contacted in advance. Drivers license/picture ID will be checked for identification before releasing any child to someone other then parent/guardian.

Weather-

Fire: There will be three fire extinguishers located in my home in case of a fire, one in the kitchen and one in each play room.

Tornardo:In the event of a tornado warning, the children will be gathered in the bathroom.

Poweroutage: There will be flashlights located in the kitchen, bathroom, and one playroom.

Tornardo and fire drills will be practiced monthly.

Holiday/Closures- Daycare will closed and the following days will be a paid  holiday when they fall on a regular scheduled day for care:

New Year’s Day

Memorial Day

Fourth of July

Labor Day

Thanksgivings Day

Day after Thanksgiving

Christmas Eve

Christmas Day

If childcare is needed on these days, for additional fees, arrangements can be made if I am available.

Vacation- Please give a 2 week notice if you are going on vacation. 50% of your contracted rate is expected before you leave to hold the child’s spot at the childcare.

Illness- If your child has a fever or vomiting/diarrhea overnight please do not bring them to daycare. If at anytime the child has any of the above symptoms during daycare hours the parent/guardian will be called to pick up the child. Children must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to daycare.

To insure a healthy environment for everyone, please respect these policies, they are here to protect your child, other children, and the provider.

Absences- Please notify me in the case of absences, or late arrivals at least two hours before regular scheduled times.

Meal times- If your child is not here at these times, meals or snacks will not be given at unscheduled times so please be sure that they have eaten. If your child has an allergy to a specific food, please let me know. I never force a child to finish what is on his plate, but I do encourage each child to try one or two bites of everything. Sometimes they are surprised by what they like!

Medications- Medications CANNOT be given at the daycare without a parent’s written consent along with the name of the medication and dosage. I will provide a medication log form to fill out for each medication.

Sign in/ Sign Out

Each day upon arriving, and leaving the parent is required to sign his child(ren) in/0ut, noting the EXACT time. A sign-in/out 3 ring binder, and a clock are all located by the door. This gives me a written record of the child's attendance, hours, and who brought/picked up the child.

Nap and Rest time- All children under the age of 5 will have a nap or rest time each day. No child will be forced to sleep, however, they must remain quiet while other children are napping. Special blankets will be allowed for naptime only. Children who wake up before the rest will be guided in finding a quiet time activity to engage in that will not disturb any sleeping children.

Childrens Cubbies- All children will have a cubby to keep their belongings. All children must bring a back pack to store their extra clothes and blankets in. I ask that the back pack stays here during the week and if needed can be taken home on Fridays. I will take care of washing blankets over the weekend. Also to keep from getting children’s items, such as socks/shoes, and jackets/coats mixed up or lost please take a moment every morning to take your child/ren’s things to their cubby. Therefore at the end of each day it will not be so time consuming to find belongings when picking up your child. Keeping the children’s things separate also helps keep germs and head lice from spreading in daycares.

Potty Training- I will assist you in potty training your child in any way possible, with the understanding that it will be successful only if we work together. Please send your child in easy on/off clothing, and at least 3 to 4 changes of clothes. I will wash any soiled clothing items and they will be put back in their cubby. Therefore you do not have to keep bringing more back.

Open Door- You are invited and welcome to visit Imagination Daycare anytime that your child(ren) are present. Parents are also free to call at anytime. If I do not answer, please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as we are finished with the current activity.

Infants- Older children will never be allowed to pick up/carry around any infant. Infants who can crawl or “scoot” will be allowed to do so freely, and will never be confined to a crib/playpen. If an activity like painting, small craft objects or fast movement is planned that is not appropriate for an infant, for the safety of the child they will be placed in a play pen, excersaucer, jumper, or high chair, and will be removed as soon as the activity is over.

Toys/Equipment- Ride on toys, slides, swings, sprinkler, water slides, bounce houses, sand boxes and other toys will be used on a regular basics (weather permitting). If a parent has questions or concerns, or does not want their child involved in these activities, please inform me.

Diapering- Diapers will be changed every 2-3 hours or more often if needed. The children will be changed on a pad that will be sanitized after each use. I will wear gloves and my hands will be washed and sanitized after each diapering.

Bathing- I will bath a soiled child if I feel its necessary.

Special Days- We will observe special days with activities, such as holidays, birthdays etc. You are welcome to being decorations, games or treats to help celebrate as long as there is enough for everyone.

Personal items- Please make your child leave all of there personal items at home! Do not bring stuffed animals, baby dolls, trucks, jewery, extra blankets etc. I have more then enough toys for all the children and do not need more here. I ask this because bringing a personal item from home does nothing but cause conflict between your child and the other children. They do not understand why they have to share it when it’s theirs from home. I also do not want to be responsible for lost of stolen items if something is brought from home when asked not to be.

Daycare Rules-Please do not let your child come in eating something when you drop them off, unless they have enough to share with all the other children. It is not fair to the other children to watch your child eat something that they can not have also. If your child brings something in to eat I will be asking you to take them back to the car to finish it before they can come back in. Also do not let your child bring in a sippy cup. I have plenty of sippy cups here for the children, and it is just to hard to keep track of everyone’s cups to send back home with them. I do not let the children carry sippy cups around the house. It is not sanitary when the child lays the cup down and other children drink out of it also when I find a spoiled cup of milk at the bottom of a toy box.

I respect you and your family, so please respect my policies.

Thank you,

Imagination Daycare
